Morrice dera Beach at Rangat in Middle Andaman Islands is a very different attraction. The twin rock at Morrice dera presents itself as a unique yet beautiful rock formation. The walkway in between these rocks leads towards an eye-catching Horizon View Point. The beach here is ideal to sit and relax. There are small eco-friendly sea-facing sit-outs placed alongside the beach which makes it ideal to spend some idle time relaxing and doing nothing but staying engaged in nature.
Yeratta is located 8 Kilometers away from Rangat. It has abundant mangrove life. The harbour of Rangat is in Yerrata and is known as the Yerrata Jetty. It is a great spot to observe and study a diverse variety of mangroves. As an initiative towards creating awareness among the general public and tourists about mangroves, department of Environment and Forests has established a Mangrove Interpretation Centre which has attractive display panels depicting various species of mangroves found in these islands.
The Amkunj beach is located at the Nimbutala village at a distance of 8kms from Rangat. The beach is equally beautiful and scenic just like any other beach in Andaman. There are many eco-friendly sofa-like sit-outs, some eco huts for providing shade and small round tables erected by the beachside which makes it a good place to sit and unwind on a bright sunny day. One can opt to swim here and soak in the warm sun for a lot of Vitamin D and much more peace of mind.
The Panchavati Hills falls on the outskirts of Rangat and is yet another beautiful place to be visited. It is a small hill and surrounded by rocks. A beautiful waterfall flows gently through this hills and this makes the rocks around slippery due to which trekking is not advised at this small hill. Basically, the Panchavati waterfall is a source of water for Rangat. You need to climb uphill from the main road to reach the waterfall here. If you are staying for a night at Rangat then you can try to explore this place. However, during day visits we don’t recommend it.
